Back when we were working on the Winter 2022 cover story with Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood, we started to get the sense that the two were quite excited about the paintings they were collaborating on for The Smile's A Light for Attracting Attention album. Now that The Smile is back in the studio and touring again, Yorke and Donwood are about to showcase a series of paintings at Tin Man Art in London, The Crow Flies—Part 1, also accompanied by a Flemish woven tapestry commissioned by the artists in London to celebrate the album’s one-year anniversary.
The works in the show his exhibition were painted together in Oxford and Brighton between 2021 and 2023, so we can't wait to see what the partnership brings.
