As with a lot of shows opening in the next few weeks as we get in the flow of the new exhibition season, we are looking at a few highlights, and Amanda Ba's show, Developing Desire, at Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in NYC is another top-of-our-list-to-check-out show. Ba has been on our radar for the past few years, and we can't wait to see how she approaches such a massive space. As the gallery noters, "Amanda Ba, born in Ohio from first generation Chinese American parents, has long been influenced by diasporic memories and her family heritage. In her latest works, Ba observes China from a different perspective, seeking to capture the country’s cultural consciousness and interrogate its formation. Developing Desire features new paintings, a three-channel video and her first foray into installation."
