Because it is a Friday, and we are doing the morning rounds, we came across this wonderful clip from Hollis Frampton's experimental 1968 film, Surface Tension. The people at Criterion Collection released the clip, with Frampton noting of Surface prior to his death, “a single dolly shot from the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge to the lake in Central Park."

Spanish artist, Ana Soler, created Causa-Efecto (Cause & Effect), where she suspended 2,000 tennis balls from string to appear as if following a path of bouncing through the Mustang Art Gallery in Alicante, Spain. One of the best exhibits we have seen of recreated and simulated motion we can think of.

Tomorrow night, March 2, two San Francisco stalwarts will be opening a two-man show at 111 Minna Gallery. Those two would be Henry Lewis and Lange Olivera, and that show would be Neon Knights. Lewis is one of the most accomplished tattoo artists in SF, and Lango, a tattooist himself, is one of the most skilled graffiti/muralists we have had in the magazine in the past few months. We are going to call this one of the most original ideas we have seen in 2012. This is a beautiful and dramatic video piece by Jacob Sutton, where he takes pro snowboarder William Hughes and films him at night in a uniform adorned with LED lights on a French slope. What looks flawless didn't come easy: Sutton spent three nights on the slopes, using his Red Epic camera at temperatures of -25C.
