Fresco de su exposición "Relics of the New World" y justo a tiempo para las festividades de octubre, el escultor y fabricante de máscaras Lucien Shapiro, continúa ampliando su universo único este viernes 5 de octubre en la Galería LeQuiVive en Oakland, California, como parte de una exposición de 3 artistas llamada "A Show of Heads" con artistas colegas John Casey y Brian Robertson.

Si son tan fans como nosotros de David Byrne y the los Talking Heads como lo somos nosotros, entones esto les va a encanta: Un vistazo a al espacio de producción del Sr. Byrne, donde actualmente trabaja en filmes, fotografía, opera y otros proyectos.

Presentado en la edición de agosto del 2012 es un artista basado en el área de la bahía de San Francisco, Robert Bowen, quien esta por mostrar una nueva serie de obras en Lethal Injection, que abre el 3 de agosto en 111 Minna Gallery. Un autoproclamado bebé de la televisión que crea obras que se sienten como una corriente de conciencia de la cultura pop de los años 80´s y 90’s, Shaun Roberts contribuidor de Juxtapoz, visitó el estudio de Bowens para ver su espacio de trabajo.

Tenemos la oportunidad de visitar a Jeremy Fish de vez en cuando y generalmente es cuando va a tener una nueva exposición o un nuevo conjunto de obras esta siendo construida. Lo que más disfrutamos de nuestras visitas a Fish en su estudio en SF North Beach es que cualquiera que sea la preparación o la investigación para esta obra, los restos son evidentes en todo su espacio....

El artista de Los Ángeles Patrick Martínez, es conocido por sus obras en neón y sus pinturas de jóvenes contemporáneos y esta apunto de abrir un nuevo solo show, llamado Lovely Day, en Known Gallery este sábado 16 de junio. Todd Mazer fue a su estudio y tomó estas bonitas fotos de su proceso y de cosas que por lo general lo inspiran.

Prior to showing at RTIST Gallery in Melbourne, our European correspondent Butterfly traveled to the French studio of the Da Mental Vaporz (DMV) Crew to watch them prepare a huge body of work for the show. Bom-K, Blo, Brusk, Dran, Gris1, ISO, Jaw, Kan, and Sowat brought more than 100 pieces of artwork from screenprints to sketches, solo and collective canvases down to Melbourne, and we captured some of the process. A little holiday viewing, as Southern California surf, skate, fashion, and culture icon Shawn Stussy, just as he is about to open a surf shop in Tokyo, is captured in this studio visit video by Seth Epstein. The Thelonious Monk is a nice touch. Watch Stussy shape surfboards after the jump . . .

WIth a new solo exhibition at Lazardies Gallery scheduled March 2, 2012,  we visited the London studio of Irish-born and former Juxtapoz cover artist, Conor Harrington. Making sure we get a glimpse of just a few of the new works set for Lazarides, Helen Soteriou (who interviewed Charming Baker back January 2012), we find bits of inspiration and influence strung about in Harrington's workspace.

I dropped into my friend Ryan De La Hoz's new studio the other day to take a glimpse at what he had been up to, because I knew it had been a lot- and I really just love his work. After being awarded the Beautiful/Decay Wet Paint grant along with a couple other artists: Skinner, Maya Hayuk, Dereck Albeck, etc, Ryan was just hours away from delivering a handfull of pieces to the StumbleUpon offices in SF, among many other things...
