Nuestro buen amigo, Herbert Baglione, de quién hicimos una nota con el Fanzine hace unas semanas, tendrá un solo show que lleva por título: Obituary.  El equipo de FIFTY24MX, en colaboración nuestro equipo de Juxtapoz Latin America tenemos todo preparado para que a partir de este 18 de mayo puedan venir a ver su trabajo. Obituary, su más reciente proyecto, presentado en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá en agosto del 2012, es una exposición que integra obras inspiradas en la muerte, la imperfección humana y el renacer. Desde hace 10 años, Baglione se ha convertido en uno de los artistas contemporáneos más sobresalientes. Su trabajo, tanto en murales, como instalación y pintura, hace de sus piezas traducciones fieles de los dilemas existenciales y las precariedades de la modernidad.   

Es muy interesante ver como dos artistas trabajan obra en conjunto, pero es más interesante cuando los artistas utilizan medios distintos. ¿Cómo interpretaría un fotógrafo las obras de un pintor? Esto es lo que dio como resultado PROJETO NEGRO.

Aviso de muerte es la definición de la palabra obituario, la cual bautizó la más reciente exposición del artista brasileño Herbert Baglione, Obituary, abierta al público hasta el 5 de Agosto en el MAC: Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá, presentado por Upper Playground, con curaduría de Matt Revelli y Arturo Mizrahi de FIFTY24 Gallery.

El artista de Sao Paulo, Brasil y artista de portada de nuestra edicion de Brasil de 2009, Herbert Baglione, abrirá una nueva exposición de museo en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo en Bogotá, Colombia el día de mañana, sábado 7 de julio. La exposición Obituary, presentara una serie de pinturas e instalaciones, como también Baglione estará recreando los dibujos que hizo cuando tenía 3 años de edad al ilustrar simples intervenciones sobre fotografías de su familia.

When we were at Nuart this past Fall, Herbert Baglione's installation room was one of the highlights, as the Sao Paulo-based artist had paid tribute to the 69 victims of the Norway UTØYA ) massacre that occured in the country earlier in 2011. The work, when completed, was a moving tribute and stunning piece.

After we left Herbert Bagline in Oaxaca after Day of the Dead (and his collaborative work with Dr Lakra) the Sao Paulo artist headed to Mexico City to paint murals around the massive city. We found some photos of one of the murals, with a bit of an explanation from Herbert himself.

Today we show you the completed collaborative mural that Herbert Baglione and Dr. Lakra worked on in Oaxaca, Mexico last week in conjunction with the Day of the Dead festivities. As you can see in the final mural, the artist took the Day of the Dead celebration and its themes of celebrating those passed away and applied to each of their styles.

We spent time in Oaxaca for the Day of the Dead celebration, documenting both the festivities and the painting collaboration with Herbert Baglione and Dr. Lakra. Today, we show you pictures of Day 2's work, with more details and characters added to the mural in Etla in Oaxaca, Mexico.

We showed your are photos from the Day of the Dead celebration in Oaxaca from our visit last week, but we were also there to witness a great collaboration from two former Juxtapoz cover artists, Mexico's Dr. Lakra and Brazil's Herbert Baglione. Both artists collaborated on mural in the town of Etla in the Oaxaca region of Mexico, and today we show you Day 1 of their mural in progress.

We knew Sao Paulo-based Herbert Baglione was off to Rome for the Outdoor Festival as soon as we departed Nuart in Norway, and now we are seeing the looks of the multi-paneled mural he painted in Italy. We always like when Herbert adds the chaotic scratches above his characters, as he has done here with this panel.
