UK-based Emma Tooth, who has shown in the past with Lazarides Gallery, will be part of Thinkspace Gallery's Picks of the Harvest 2012 group show opening March 3 in Culver City. The exhibition will feature numerous artists Thinkspace has had their eye on over the past year exhibited alongside new works from several of our regular Thinkspace family members, and we were able to have a conversation with Emma on a wide-ranging of topics, including Japan, Oscar Wilde, and Joanna Newsom. 

Opening February 4 at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, There Is Time To Kill Today will showcase new paintings, drawings and the debut of a new series of charcoal works on canvas from Burbank-based artist Ana Bagayan. Her work explores images of adolescence as metaphors for larger themes of ethos and wonder and has been featured in such publications as Rolling Stone, Spin, GQ and various others.

Tomorrow, January 21, Eric Joyner opens It's A Jungle Out There, a new body of work at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City. The exhibition will feature 18 pop-surrealism paintings of robots interacting with jungle animals. We sat down with Joyner to discuss inspirations, salads, and robots and donuts.

She creates complicated, intricate, sometimes uncomfortable worlds of meat, vegetation, and birds and beasts of various sizes. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in History. Sommers opens a new body of work, Potter's Field, at Thinkspace Gallery on January 7, 2012.

Leontine Greenberg will have her work on display at Thinkspace Gallery's Project Room starting this Saturday, December 10. Specimens will feature the Jackson Heights, Queens-based artists new body of work, inspired by old boats, city rooftops, the coming environmental apocalypse, and Beatrix Potter.

An icon of Harajuku Kawaii culture and the founder of %6DOKIDOKI, Sebastian Masuda is one of the most recognized figures of cutting-edge Japanese pop culture. In 2009, he created and directed the “Harajuku Kawaii Experience,” a world-tour fashion show and talk show event, drawing more than 40,000 fans to the event in San Francisco. This December in Los Angeles, he will launch the world debut of RUNE BOUTIQUE with MEDICOM TOY.
