On October 16, 2019, Stone Sparrow NYC will open FALSE FACE, a group exhibition featuring local and international artists working with 2D and 3D mediums in representational styles. Each piece was created by taking inspiration from the title.

FALSE FACE is an exhibition primarily made up of portraits. In some, covered or obscured faces hide an underlying history, while others embrace their paradoxical identity. From Julie Campbell's enigmatic embroiderings and Sussanah Zucker's ceramic sculptures to Ilona Cutts's lowbrow ladies of the forest and Alan Macdonald's reimaginations of classic portraitures. When presenting the idea to each artist, curator Marina Eliasi had a more basic idea in mind, something like masks. However, each artist completed work with extraordinary interpretations of what a 'false face' is.

The artwork exhibited will be examples of work from:
Richard T. Scott, New York
MJ Lindo, California
Niels Corfitzen, Denmark
Alejandro Pasquale, Argentina
Josh Lawyer, California
Rubenimichi, Spain
Pam Hawkes, England
Michele Melcher, Pennsylvania
Adam Giroux, Toronto, Canada
Zach Brown, Pennsylvania
Ling Ling Moorman, Malaysia by way of Arkansas

FALSE FACE opens this Wednesday, October 16th, and is on view through November 9, 2019.
