Brooklyn-based artist duo FAILE (Patrick McNeil & Patrick Miller) in partnership with restaurateurs Joe Robinson and Anthony Curis (also of contemporary art gallery Library Street Collective)—the team behind Standby, The Skip and Deluxx Fluxx in Detroit—are delighted to announce the expansion of Deluxx Fluxx to New York City. Opening in September, Deluxx Fluxx is located in a 4,200-square-foot space below Webster Hall, The Bowery Presents’ iconic music venue in the heart of Manhattan’s East Village. Conceived as an immersive visual and audial art space and arcade, Deluxx Fluxx reinvigorates the genre of artist-centric venues that defined New York nightlife in the early 2000s. Deluxx Fluxx will occupy the former ‘Studio at Webster Hall’ and continue The Bowery Presents & Webster Hall’s longstanding legacy of providing live entertainment and unique nightlife experiences.

Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller, known collaboratively as FAILE, are the visionaries behind Deluxx Fluxx’s floor-to-ceiling blacklight art interiors. Together they’ve blurred the boundaries between fine art, urban art, and popular culture throughout their 20+ years of practice. FAILE brings to New York elements from the golden age of arcades, punk rock, hip-hop and graffiti culture that are now synonymous with the Deluxx Fluxx experience. The New York location marks the second permanent iteration of Deluxx Fluxx, which debuted as temporary gallery installations in London and New York City’s Lower East Side in 2010 with the artist BAST before eventually opening its first permanent location on The Belt Alley in Detroit.

Returning to New York inside the legendary Webster Hall venue, FAILE has created an array of hand-painted artworks in their signature style, custom video work and a selection of their arcade games such as Crown Heights King (pigeons battling to be the king of the neighborhood), alongside DJs and live performances. The beverage program, developed by Robinson, will feature craft cocktails with names derived from the distinctive art on the walls: "The Dancehall Queen,” for example, is a tropical mix of strawberry-infused tequila, ginger, hibiscus-lime cordial, and Hellfire bitters. Renowned experimental lighting and stage designer Andi Watson, celebrated for his work with Radiohead and Prince, will spearhead the lighting design at Deluxx Fluxx.

Deluxx Fluxx is located at 125 East 11th Street in New York City. Hours of operation are Thursday through Saturday from 10pm to 4am as of Friday, September 23, 2022.
